Walking and Hiking

Hikers and walking enthusiasts will find that the Vallée de l’Our boasts incredible conditions for extensive walks. Over 60 hiking trails and 7 marked walking trails run through the nature park along the Our. You will find thorough map materials for the walking and hiking trails around the camping at the reception desk. We also provide guided group hikes into the wonderful Our Valley upon request.

Mountain Biking

Our camping offers pure biking opportunities for active holiday-goers! All around the Vallée de l’Our you will find marked mountain biking trails that give you a view of the full beauty of the Germany-Luxembourg border region. The MBT Trail Vianden is almost right at the camping’s front door. Throughout its length of 22 km you will experience an altitude change of nearly 720 m! We are happy to provide you with route maps.

Fishing

Our camping, located directly on the Our, also boasts fishing opportunities. The Our marks the border between Germany and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. Fishing is only allowed here with a fishing permit, the Permis de Pêche. You can obtain this from the municipal administration. The Our provides fishing fun for young and old, from net fishing to fly fishing. You are also able to swim in the Our – either with or without a boat. Especially young visitors are able to engage in large-scale water fights on our stony shore or in a small creek in the camping.

Darts

301, Blind Killer, Round Robin or Foxhunt? Whatever version you prefer, fans of this popular, (allegedly) originally English dart game will find a dart board and the darts themselves in our bistro, allowing for fun and variety on a cool evening. Play with friends or family and enjoy a cheerful, sporty evening in the heart of the Germany-Luxembourg border region.

Activities in the Area

The enchanting border region of Germany and Luxembourg surrounds the Camping Vallée de l’Our. There are many charming locations to be discovered, exciting natural spectacles to awe at, and many opportunities to simply relax. The village of Hosingen lies just 8 kilometres from the camping. Here visitors will find the Aqua Nat’Our, with its massive swimming pool, sauna, fitness areas and traditional regional food.

Getaway Destinations in the Greater Region

Did you come to the Vallée de l’Our by car? Then make a day trip to the city of Luxembourg. This is where countryside idyll meets culture. The Grand Duchy is distinct for its vibrant mix of the historic and the natural. Castles, churches and Roman ruins, cliffs and mines, and traditional folklore offer a lot of sights for visitors old and young. For example, the villages of Diekirch, Ettelbrück, Clervaux and Wiltz are steeped in history. Viewing tours are offered in the grottoes of Consdorf, and Beaufort Castle provides a magnificent forest path with majestic cliffs that dwarf anybody in comparison.

Lived History

Following the path of Saint Willibrord you enter the cathedral and crypt of Echternach. The side streets then invite you to make an excursion to Vianden, where the Middle Ages are still alive and omnipresent. You stroll through narrow alleys and get to sit high above the city in the chair lift. The medieval castle sits enthroned above the city. Already familiar with the Little Switzerland of Luxembourg? If not, you should definitely plan for a long hiking trip into the Müllerthal valley, with its astonishing landscape shaped by erosion. Or you can cross the border and visit the famous Eifelpark in Bitburg-Gondorf, 60 km away. The park boasts events and an impressive range of fauna with over 200 animals.
